Based in South Wales, at GR Plant [formerly Gareth Rees Plant Hire Ltd] we specialise in plant hire, contracting, environmental engineering, and trail design.
We were founded in 1989 by Gareth Rees, who remains our Managing Director today. Whilst we began with land remediation work across the forests of South Wales, we’ve evolved into a multi-faceted company, with services ranging from crushing and screening work to metal recovery, motorbike trail design, and specialist plant hire.
GR Plant is still run by our Founder, Gareth Rees, who works on each and every project to ensure the highest specification is met. Gareth’s passion for the outdoors has led the company to creat outstanding bike trails, such as the Lee Valley Velopark in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and Triumph’s Adventure Riding Experience in South Wales.
Our expert team of operators, mechanics, site managers and engineers ensure that all of our projects are completed to the GRP standard.
We travel across Wales and the South West to offer some of the highest quality groundworks, contracting, and environmental engineering – from crushing and screening in Hinkley Point C, to creating motorbike trails in South Wales.

"I have worked with Gareth Rees Plant Ltd for 20 years, he has always given us the flexibility and support that the business needs on a variety of schemes, from technical and detailed sympathetic trail works to large scale earthworks and crushing operations."Gwyn Roberts, Project Manager, BAM Nuttall Ltd.
"During my time in working for Contractors in South Wales over the last twenty five years, including BAM Nuttall and Dyer and Butler, Gareth and his team have provided a high-quality service for me. The job is always finished to specification and on budget. In addition to this, Gareth lends his experience to support the site team and project wherever he can assist. I look forward to working with Gareth again when the opportunities arise."Viv Cole, Contracts Manager
